Survey Department
What is the right-of-way width in front of my house?
Road right-of-ways vary throughout the county. We recommend talking to a private land surveyor to have your right-of-way staked. Only a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Ohio can mark and opine on the physical limits of a property right.
Does this office help resolve boundary line disputes between property owners?
No, boundary line disputes are a private matter and should be referred to a private surveyor or attorney, as the case may be.
What are the geographical coordinates for my property corners?
The Medina County Engineers Office does not maintain or provide parcel or boundary coordinates to anyone. A private Professional Land Surveyor licensed in the State of Ohio is necessary to find, reset or recover your existing boundary corners.
Does this office provide chain-of-title and/or parcel information to licensed realtors for the purpose of land conveyance?
The Medina County Recorder manages all the publicly recorded documents that the county retains. Your title agent will likely find the documents to verify ownership of a parcel at that location. This office does not conduct property research for private companies.
Does this office retain orthophotos for purposes of documenting drainage and land use?
Our GIS map displays orthophotos dating back to 2000. You can view that layer by clicking on the “Aerial Photos” tab, in the panel on the left side of the web page. We also offer orthophotos dating back to the 1960s at our office, but we do charge a small printing fee for copies.
How do I find the deed to my property?
On the GIS map, locate your parcel. On the toolbar above the map, click the “Identify”
button, then click on your parcel. Then, in the panel on the left, click on blue hyperlink text which
reads, “Deed”. This will open a new window, which connects to the Medina County Recorder’s web
site querying that parcel.
