Stormwater Department

Stormwater Department
The Medina Board of County Commissioners have adopted the following regulations in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code:
- Stormwater Management Rules and Regulations
- Sediment Control Rules and Regulations
- Flood Damage Reduction Regulations
The Flood Damage Reduction Regulations are required as a part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) so that County residents are able to purchase federal flood insurance.
The Stormwater Department in the Medina County Engineer’s Office administers these regulations on behalf of the County Commissioners. Work activities include:
- Review of new development plans
- Issuance of Stormwater Management & Sediment Control Permits
- Inspection of permitted construction projects
- Response to inquiries from residents, contractors, and design professionals
- Coordination of subdivision storm sewer system maintenance and repair.
In addition, the Stormwater Department helps manage the County Commissioners’ Small MS4 stormwater program requirements as set forth by the Ohio EPA.
